and received $45 for his efforts.

forgive the lack of web updates. I am in the middle of
redesigning the
entire layout and preparing to
switch webhosting services within
the next month.
I'm sure many of you have had as much
trouble
accessing the message board as I have.
June 19th will
mark the start of our club ladder tournament.
The format will
be Game 25 (no delay) with both players
taking turns with
the White and Black pieces.
Initial rankings are based on
current USCF standard ratings.
Higher ranked player retains position in
case of a tie.
Players will obtain challenge rights if they
win the
previous week.
Games may be USCF quick rated if both players
agree.
Players will be required to pay $1 each
for the USCF
rated games.

Chris Freeken has formed the Seahawk
Chess Club in
order to promote chess on the UNCW
campus. They are holding a
promotional day on
September 1st from 4pm to 8pm. Check their calendar

updates on times and locations.
